What about heat resistance?

Experience tells us that the splashback can handle itself well behind a (gas)hob. However the product is a type of plastic and needs some caution with cooking.
You need to make sure the heat doesn’t build up too much at the splashback and that hot pans or flames cannot reach the back wall.

When using large pans on the burners close to the wall for extended periods of time, or when there is a very small distance between the hob and the splashback we advise to use a backboard saver (a small plate of hardened glass) to protect the splashback.
